STORY
Nelly Cootalot is a fierce pirate-bride (as she thinks of herself) while looking like a nice little girl in a decent dress and with a patch over her left eye. But as you know appearances are deceptive. But not for an old buccanear, which appears in front of Nelly in form of a spirit and who sends Nelly to an island with the task of finding out where the heck all the spoonbeaks have gone. Although this might not be the right task for a fearsome pirate, Nelly immediatly begins her research and soon will find out about misterious complots and foul tricksery.
GAMEPLAY
This title can be entirely played with the mouse, as it is a good old point and click adventure game. Everything is quite self-explanatory, but for people without knowledge of point and click adventures (are there any?), here a short guide: Click left on ground to walk there. Click loooong on item to let a menu appear, which lets you choose between (from left to right) speak, look, take. Click right anywhere to open inventory. Click on item to take item from inventory. Type Esc or move your mouse to the left or right edge of the screen to close the inventory. Your mouse still should look like the item you have chosen. Click on another item to use the chosen item with it. Click left to get your beloved mouse pointer back and put the item in your inventory.
COMMENT
Nelly Cootalot is a greatly designed game, in every aspect: The graphics are beautiful, they are handdrawn and have an extraordinary style. The colors are chosen very tastefully - the whole adventure is really great just to look at. The dialogs are funny, witty and have the right mixture between story-telling and abundant nonsense. The characters, being simply, yet effective animated are greatly designed and have their own charming minds. The story is misterious and thrilling, yet funny and told with a good pinch of madness. So are the puzzles.
Nelly Cootalot is a perfect adventure game, and being freeware again adds prizeless content to the diversity of the freeware scene. Thanksalot, Cootalot.

Fantastic adventure game. The art style is incredible, the dialog genius and the puzzles very clever.
The only thing lacking for a full commercial release is - besides lenght - voiceover. But it is truly a remarkable game. | thanx guys!
