The Endless Forest is a experimental MMO-Game that hasn't gameplay like other titles. It's motivation is the beauty in the levels and animations. You experience the magical silence of an enchanted forest. The animations are beautiful, cute and elegant, as is the leveldesign. An old ruin of a church, a fountain and a big hollow tree are some of the locations which serve as orientation points when you galop through this mystical environment.
So it's not very far away to use this contemplative game also as a beautiful screensaver - which is what the developers did. You can use this game either as a game or as a screensaver.
Nevertheless the forest doesn't lack the possiblity for interaction. But I think (and hope) that this interactivity will evolve further than the actual status. At the moment you can't chat - the idea to communicate only via visuals is great, I think. There should be more visuals, though and maybe the forest should get bigger, that is there should be implemented more beautiful locations as there are now.
The Endless Forest is a highly professional looking title with an interesting and unique gaming idea. I really enjoy the non-violent, not mission-based gameplay and the setting not related to the usual orcs/elves/dwarfes-fantasy or science fiction universe. I really hope that the developers will continue to work in this game and evolve it to a gaming experience which will stand out against others.
