What can I say about a titan in the freeware scene? Battle of Wesnoth is so professionally done, with so many possibilities of extending the already huge realm that it would take much longer than this short article to describe all the fine details of this excellent freeware title. I mean, which freeware game supports about 20 (!) different languages?!? Fortunatly, their website is well done and being constantly updated. The community is growing and enhances the game by providing new custom made maps and even new factions and units, which can be done with a sophisticated mark-up language and some basic knowledge of the game.
Battle of Wesnoth surely is one of the biggest freeware titles out there. If you like turn-based strategy or even RTS-games, you won't forget the day you first heard of Battle for Wesnoth. Because you really are sucked into this rich medieval-fantasy world and will take some time to exit it again...
