< About Runtime-HQ >

Computer games have allways been part of my digital life ever since I got my first computer. Computergame-creation started with custom doom maps, later Halflife1-Mods, until I started some of my own computer games, released as freeware.
Fortunatly for me and for all other computer-game lovers I was not the only one to release their work as freeware titles. With the years, both hardware and software for the amateur - computerdeveloper increased, and so did the qaulity of the games released.

In 2006 I decided to start a web for these heroic computerdevelopers, with a little twist: Despite most other websites, I wanted to reviews only games that, in my humble opinion, where GREAT.

Why? Why not also, as it is usual, review bad games? Well, I always wanted to honour the work and effort put into a game that is being given away without asking for money in return. It is obvious, that not ALL freeware titles are great, actually there are a whole lot of bad copies of existing games, horrible gameplay-prototypes or screen-rape-gfx out there.

BUT they still are freeware and I don't see no sense and no honour in giving these (most of the time quite young) gamedevelopers a bad time reviewing their game badly.
So this is Runtime-HQ: A site where only the best freeware-games, the gems of the freeware-scene will be collected and (now, as a new feature) hosted. You will only find good reviews on this site, as all the games have been played by me and have won my gamer-heart.

Keep the freeware gaming alive, Maenny
